Welcome to ResumeMD. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ResumeMD ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.
2. Description of Service
ResumeMD is a web-based resume building platform that allows users to create, edit, and export professional resumes using Markdown syntax. The Service includes:
- A Markdown-based resume editor with live preview
- Multiple professional resume templates
- PDF export functionality
- Resume analytics and ATS optimization tools
- Optional cloud storage and synchronization (for registered users)
- Import functionality for LinkedIn data and Markdown files
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
You may use basic features of ResumeMD without creating an account. To access premium features such as cloud synchronization and multiple resume management, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
4. Subscription and Payments
4.1 Free Trial
New users may be eligible for a free trial period. During the trial, you will have access to all features of the Service. At the end of the trial period, you may choose to subscribe to continue using premium features.
4.2 Pro Subscription
The Pro subscription is billed monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan. Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the free tier.
4.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the change takes effect.
5. User Content
5.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you create using ResumeMD, including your resumes, personal information, and any other materials you upload or input into the Service.
5.2 License to ResumeMD
By using the Service, you grant ResumeMD a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not use your content for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
5.3 Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload or include content that:
- Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
- Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 ResumeMD Property
The Service, including its design, features, templates, and underlying technology, is owned by ResumeMD and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
7.2 Templates
Resume templates provided by ResumeMD are licensed for your personal use in creating resumes. You may not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the templates themselves.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as LinkedIn for data import, or payment processors). Your use of such third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee that resumes created with the Service will result in job interviews or employment. The effectiveness of your resume depends on many factors beyond our control.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUMEMD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumeMD and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
13. Dispute Resolution
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@resumemd.pro. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may proceed with formal legal action.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ResumeMD regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or communications.
