Terms of Service

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Welcome to ResumeMD. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before using our platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ResumeMD ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications.

2. Description of Service

ResumeMD is a web-based resume building platform that allows users to create, edit, and export professional resumes using Markdown syntax. The Service includes:

  • A Markdown-based resume editor with live preview
  • Multiple professional resume templates
  • PDF export functionality
  • Resume analytics, with an ATS score available on Pro
  • Optional cloud storage and synchronization (for registered users)
  • Import functionality for LinkedIn data and Markdown files

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You may write, design, and export your resume without creating an account. A free account adds cloud synchronization, a public profile, and shareable resume links. Pro features require a paid subscription. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free Tier

The core service — writing, designing, and exporting your resume as a PDF — is free, without an account, and the free tier never expires. There is currently no trial of Pro; if we ever offer one, it will not require a card and will never convert into a paid subscription automatically.

4.2 Pro Subscription

The Pro subscription is billed monthly, quarterly, or annually, depending on your selected plan. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Subscription fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except as required by law.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal — cancel means cancel, with no retention steps in the way. Cancelling stops all future charges; you keep access to Pro features until the end of the period you paid for, and your account then reverts to the free tier. Your resumes are never deleted because a subscription ends.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance and will apply to the next billing cycle after the change takes effect.

5. User Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create using ResumeMD, including your resumes, personal information, and any other materials you upload or input into the Service.

5.2 License to ResumeMD

By using the Service, you grant ResumeMD a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We will not use your content for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

5.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload or include content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 ResumeMD Property

The Service, including its design, features, templates, and underlying technology, is owned by ResumeMD and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

7.2 Templates

Resume templates provided by ResumeMD are licensed for your personal use in creating resumes. You may not redistribute, sell, or sublicense the templates themselves.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services — including Dodo Payments for billing, Supabase for accounts and storage, Anthropic and OpenAI for AI features you invoke, and LinkedIn data import. Your use of such third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not guarantee that resumes created with the Service will result in job interviews or employment. The effectiveness of your resume depends on many factors beyond our control.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUMEMD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumeMD and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

13. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at legal@resumemd.pro. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may proceed with formal legal action.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ResumeMD regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or communications.
